The powertrain is a familiar one, a 2.0-litre EA888 four-cylinder turbo which is now into its 4th generation, making it slightly more powerful with a peak at 316BHP with 310lb-ft of torque. The twin-clutch DSG transmission hosts seven gears and fires up the MK8 from 0-60 in just 4.7 seconds. The R offers different driving modes, which include Comfort, Sport, Race, and Individual modes, with the Performance pack, there is another 'special' mode that makes the car's systems configured for the Nürburgring Nordschleife and also 'Drift' mode, which of course, is useful for drifting!
