Here is a fast ford with the visual clout that will put many mid-engines sports cars in the shade. The engine was based on the 2.5-litre inline five from MK2 Focus ST, but with bespoke pistons, conrads and camshafts. The main change was the new, larger Borg Warner K16 turbo. This doubled the boost pressure from 0.7 to 1.4bar. It also has a much bigger intercooler, freer-breathing intake and exhaust systems and the remapping of fuelling and ignition completed the MK2 Focus RS.
